Good fishing with a selection of Pickerel, Muskie, Carp, Rock Bass, Sunfish, Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass and Perch .Much of the side of the lake is taken up with housing and is a popular place to live. The town of Fenelon Falls is found between Sturgeon Lake and Cameron Lake. The lake is popular with boaters and fisherman.

The Victoria Recreation Corridor is a rail trail that stretches from Lindsay, Ontario to Kinmount Ontario. It is 55 km in length and is managed by the County of Victoria. The trail is used year-round for hiking, horseback riding, cycling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The trail follows the former CN rail line which was constructed beginning in 1874. The start of construction also coincided with the incorporation of the village of Fenelon Falls.  Lock 34 of the Trent Severn Waterway, in the heart of town, is one of the busiest locks on the waterway. People come to Fenelon Falls for their vacation, and return year after year.

The trail takes you from Lindsay along Sturgeon Lake to Fenelon Falls. It travels through Fenelon Falls and along Cameron Lake. At the North End of Cameron lake the trail follows the Burnt River north eventually leading to Kinmount. The trail continues from here into Haliburton County. Come, follow the trail and enjoy the scenic splendor and natural beauty Victoria County has to offer.

Fenelon Falls is rich in native and pioneer history. More than 10,000 years ago Paleo-Indians inhabited the area. 2000 years ago came the Southern Woodland Indians, hunters who set up temporary camps in the area. In 1615 when Samuel de Champlain travelled what is now the Trent-Severn Waterway, Huron Indians had camps throughout the region. Unlike the previous tribes, the Hurons relied on both hunting and agriculture to survive.
